If you've ever walked past McLeod Athletic Park in mid-August and caught that sweet hickory smoke drifting across 216th Street, you already know. Ribfest is back, and this year's edition, the seventh, runs Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Admission is by donation. Parking is free. The smoke starts early.

Where the money actually goes

This is the part that makes Ribfest different from most food festivals. It's run entirely by volunteers from the four Langley Rotary Clubs: Aldergrove, Langley, Langley Central, and Langley Sunrise; and 100 percent of net proceeds flow back into the community.

In 2025 alone, beneficiaries included Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, the Starfish Backpack Program, the Langley School District Foundation, and the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation, plus a long list of other local charities and Rotary service projects. The Langley Rotary Clubs Charitable Foundation, formed in 2012, is the umbrella that channels the dollars.

What to expect this year

Championship rib vendors are the main event, expect several travelling BBQ crews competing for the crowd's affection. Beyond the ribs, the festival runs a full main stage of live music, a KidZone with carnival games, face painting, inflatable structures, and mini-golf, plus a Rotary Tavern with a site-wide liquor licence. You'll need ID and a wristband for the adult beverage area.

The 50/50 draw is worth noting on its own: last year's jackpot opened at $100,000 and has grown each year, with half going to the winner and half funding Rotary's charitable work. Tickets start at $20.

Getting there and home

McLeod Athletic Park is at the northwest corner of 56th Avenue and 216th Street, just north of Langley Regional Airport. For rideshare drop-offs, use Langley Secondary School at 21405 56th Avenue; the volunteers designed that workaround to keep traffic flowing. BC Transit stops 200 metres from the festival site. Designated drivers and rideshare are strongly encouraged.

Want to help?

Ribfest is powered entirely by volunteers. If you'd like to support the event, whether as a pourer in the beer tent, a KidZone helper, or a 50/50 ticket seller, applications are open at ribfestlangley.com. Businesses interested in sponsoring can apply through the same site.

Three days, forty-seven thousand neighbours, and one long weekend of Langley at its best. Mark the calendar: August 14 is closer than it feels.
