For Langley residents, the impact of community giving often extends beyond our own backyard. Just next door in Surrey, an extraordinary event is bringing together fashion, philanthropy, and connection, and it’s one Langley locals won’t want to miss. High Fashion & High Tea isn’t just another elegant afternoon out; it’s an opportunity to help transform lives across our region, including those of our neighbours who rely on affordable housing and vital community services.

The Event

The High Fashion & High Tea Fundraiser takes place Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 1–4 pm at The Empress Palace Ballroom, 201-8166 128 Street, Surrey, BC. Guests will experience a glamorous afternoon featuring a high tea service, a South Asian–Western fusion fashion show, a spellbinding act by mentalist Randy Charach, live and silent auctions, photo booths, door prizes, and more.

Guiding the celebration is Nira Arora, beloved Morning Show Host & Executive Producer, bringing her trademark energy and charm to the stage. She’ll be joined by Howard Blank, CEO of Point Blank Entertainment, who serves as both Co-Host and Auctioneer, ensuring the live auction is as exciting as it is impactful.

The Cause Behind the Glamour

All proceeds benefit Options Community Services (OCS) and their sister society, Habitat Housing. OCS is a nonprofit registered charity with over 80 programs across Surrey, Delta, White Rock, and Langley. They provide critical support in housing, crisis intervention, counselling, inclusion, and more, with nearly 500 staff and 300+ volunteers making their vision a reality.

OCS Vision: To create a healthy, caring community where everyone thrives with dignity and opportunity.
Mission: To inspire hope, foster belonging, promote health, and reflect diversity through action.

The funds raised will go toward OCS’s second affordable housing project, following the successful launch of Habitat@81st in January 2024. That Surrey development now provides 100 mixed-income rental units for vulnerable residents, from women fleeing violence to refugees, seniors, and youth at risk. The new housing project will expand these efforts, creating safe, affordable homes for those most in need.
